Jaws Training with BTCS Qualified Trainer

Looking for Jaws training for yourself or a colleague or friend?

You’ve come to the right place.

The training that we’ll do together is personalized to your needs, at your desk and on your computer. What that means is that you get the Jaws training that you need and that at the end of our session you know that your Jaws settings are set up correctly and they’ll be there the next time to switch on.

New to Jaws for Windows?

Jaws is a computer programme for blind people and partially sighted people. It is called a screen reader. It does “what it says on the tin.” It reads the screen. That is the software takes the important text on your computer screen, and speaks it out. If you read Braille, it can also send Braille to an electronic braille display – sometimes called refreshable Braille.

Jaws has several voices, both male and female. The main voice is synthesised speach but it also can use sampled speech and there are many SAPI synthesisers that are supported by Jaws.

Jaws is produced by an American company called Freedom Scientific.

New to using Jaws with a computer?

I have over 10 years of experience of Jaws training. In that time I have worked with some computer whizzes, but I’ve worked with complete novices too. I know you’ll find our training session useful. Before you know it, you’ll be:

  • surfing the Internet,
  • shopping onloine for furniture;
  • scanning and reading your own bank statements;
  • emailing your cousin in Canada;
  • writing poetry and reading it back to youself;

How do I know? Because I’ve been doing Jaws training with people like you for over 10 years.
